Class descriptions, schedules and registration are available on the training section of this Sage Master Builder web site. Registration is simple and you'll be reminded of your upcoming classes by e-mail. The e-mail message will also include the class phone number and a link to join the class.

General Information

Q. I would like to take online classes. How do I get started?
A. Please visit the Training portion of the Sage Master Builder Web site. Through this site you'll be able to: learn more about training opportunities; register for classes; download class materials.

Q. How much do classes cost?
A. All online classes are $75., per person, per class.

Q. Are there subscriptions available?
A. Yes. There is a subscription for beginners called the Discovery Package. It includes the New Customer, Upgrade and Quick Start-up classes. There is a separate subscription for Intermediate and Advanced classes called the Empowerment Package. It includes:

Q. What do the subscriptions cost?
A. The Discovery Package costs: $399 per year. The Empowerment package costs $599. Each allows for unlimited classes. The Discovery Package will cover all the employees of a subscribing company. The Empowerment Package covers up to five employees.

Q. What should I do if I register for a class, but am unable to attend?
A. You must unregister in advance for class(es) you do not attend, or be charged a $75 missed class fee. You can unregister for a class up until the business day prior to the class.

Q. Why am I charged if I do not attend?
A. To maximize class availability and free spaces that would otherwise go unutilized, Sage requires students to unregister for classes they do not attend.

Q. How do I unregister for a class?
A. You must log into your My Training area of the Web site and click "unregister" next to the appropriate class. If you have questions or problems, please contact Sage Learning Services at 1-800-330-7163.

Q. What if I do not attend, and do not unregister?
A. You will be charged a $75 missed class fee.

Q. When can I take classes?
A. Classes are scheduled between 6 AM and 4 PM (pacific time). Each class is taught live, online using the Internet and a phone connection.

Q. How are class times listed?
A. All classes are listed in Pacific Time. Please be aware of the time difference if you are not in the same time zone.

Q. Are class materials available and if so, how do I get them?
A. Class materials are available on the Sage Master Builder website. To ensure that you have the most recent version of class materials, please download class materials 24 hours before class.

Q. Do I need any special information to sign up for classes?
A. The system will ask you for your customer ID to register for online classes. If you do not have your ID number, you may email Learning Services, training.masterbuilder@sage.com or contact Learning Services via phone at 1-800-330-7163.

Q. I tried to create an online account, but when I click on SUBMIT, I receive an error message that the Username is already in use. What does this mean?
A. This error message means someone else has already created an account with that username. You should select another username. Try a username that is more unique.

Q. I tried to create an online account but when I click on SUBMIT I receive an error message to provide a valid company code. What does this mean?
A. This error message means your customer ID may not be activated. Please email Learning Services, training.masterbuilder@sage.com or contact Learning Services via phone at 1-800-330-7163.

Q. Do I need to install additional software to take classes online?
A. Yes. You will receive instructions in your class confirmation and invitation emails about how to perform a one-time download of WebEx Training Manager. Click on the link in your email and follow the instructions. We recommend that you perform this download well in advance of your first training class to allow time for troubleshooting. If you wait until your class start time to download Training Manager, the instructor will not be available to assist you if you encounter a problem.

Q. How do I fill out an evaluation for a class I attended?
A. Please visit the Sage Master Builder Web site. Click "training", then “My Training” and login to your training account. Click the link under My Training Quick Links at the top right "Evaluate the classes you took."

Q. Can I get credit for attending a class that I did not register for?
A. No. You must register yourself via the registration site to be a recognized participant of the class. The instructor will not be able to mark you as "present" if you are not registered in advance.

Q. Classes I took prior to April of 2002 do not appear. Why not?
A. Our new Web-based service was launched in April of 2002. If you registered and took classes in the MentorPoint program, those classes will not be listed on the Web site.

Q. How far in advance should I register to take a class?
A. Class registrations are accepted up to one business day before the class convenes. If you see the class posted on our Web site, and it is not full, you may register. Classes do fill up and we recommend that you register in advance. Most classes are limited to 35 students.

Q. When are new classes posted to the registration Web site?
A. Classes are posted on a quarterly basis to the Web site. Classes are occasionally added as needed and schedules permit.

Q. What should I do if the class I want to take is full?
A. Space for all classes is limited. Class offerings are based on availability. You may sign up for the class the next time it is offered. We also recommend that you check the Web site for additions.

Q. Should I come to class early?
A. Yes. Join your class a few minutes early, especially if you are a first-time student. The extra time will allow us to help you if you experience an unexpected technical problem.

Q. How do I know if a class is canceled?
A. You will receive notification by email one business day in advance.

Q. If a class is canceled due to low registration, will it be rescheduled to another date/time?
A. Yes. Please see the schedule for a list of times the class will be offered in the future.

Q. If a class is canceled due to technical/presenter issues, will it be rescheduled to another date/time?
A. Yes. Unless the class is offered again within 7 days, the class will be rescheduled to another date/time. Once the Learning Services department has set a new date/time with the class presenter, an email with the new information will be sent to all attendees.

Q. How can I get a credit for an online class?
A. Online class billing is processed once a month. If there is an error, please contact Learning Services, training.masterbuilder@sage.com; they will put you in touch with a billing person to handle the issue.

Q. When will I receive instructions to join my class?
A. You will receive two emails. The first will be sent to you when you register for your class. The second will arrive one business day before the class. It will provide a link to join the class online and the telephone number for the audio portion of the class.

Q. Do I need to take all classes in order?
A. No. Many classes cover stand-alone material. Some must be taken in a sequence. Please check prerequisites and take classes in order if required.

Q. May I join a class after it starts?
A. No. Late arrivals cause disruptions to class. Please check the schedule and join the class the next time it is offered.

Q. What is average class length?
A. 90 minutes.

A. The toll-free number and Teleconference phone code will be e-mailed to you one business day prior to the class.

Q. What if I register for a class, but do not receive an email confirmation or I have a question about the confirmation email I receive?

Q. Why are the majority of classes scheduled in the morning?
A. Classes are scheduled to meet the needs of the greatest number of customers. Data collected from annual customer surveys determines when classes are scheduled.

Q. Why is my sample company version different than the instructor’s version?
A. Depending upon the version of Sage Master Builder that you have, the year used in the Sample Company data (2001 or 2007)  may be different.  Either version of the Sample Company may be used in the online or  Anytime Learning-based classes and does not impact your learning experience.

Technical Information

Q. Do I need a sound card?
A. No. You can hear the audio portion of the class through your telephone by calling the designated toll-free phone number.

Q. Can I add classes to my Microsoft Outlook calendar?
A. No. The invitation you receive is not integrated with the Microsoft Outlook calendar.

Q. How does the online classroom work with firewalls or other network security?
A. Most customers will not have a problem. However, companies that have "high security" settings, firewalls, etc. may experience problems viewing the training pages on their computers. In the rare event that you have problems installing WebEx Training Manager or viewing the training Web pages, contact WebEx Customer Care at 1-866-863-3904 and be sure to mention that you are a Sage Software customer.

Q. What is the minimum recommended connection speed?
A. A high-speed connection such as DSL, cable modem or T1 is required.

Q. Can a Firefox browser be used to take the live online training or web-based training?
A. Yes, however, we recommend that you use Internet Explorer for the best learning experience. If you are using Mozilla as your browser on a UNIX based operating system such as Solaris, Linux or Apple's Mac OS X platform, you will need to make sure that the Java plug-in is installed on your workstation. Mozilla does not ship with the Java Plug-In by default on these platforms. The following web sites provide instructions for the associated operating system:

Common Concerns

Q. I received an e-mail to confirm my registration but I do not know where to go to find my class.
A. You will receive a second e-mail that will include a URL (link) to join the class and the telephone information. This e-mail will typically arrive one business day prior to the class. You can also join the class by logging into My Training page on this web site and clicking the Join Now button next to the class you want to join.

Q. I tried to join the audio portion of a class, but I do not know the ID number.
A. ID numbers will be included in your e-mail invitation that is typically sent one business day in advance of the training class. Also, once you join the class itself, the telephone information displays on the screen.

Q. What should I do if I have trouble registering for training or do not know my company ID?

Q. I tried to join my training class by logging into www.imblc.com, and the site is no longer active. How do I join my class?
A. Sage Software uses WebEx Training Manager to host live, online training classes. To join your training class, you must follow the link (URL) provided in your email class invitation or log in to the My Training page on this web site and click the Join Now button next to the class you want to join. Class invitations are typically sent out one business day in advance of your training class.

Q. I registered for classes last week and I just purchased the Empowerment Package today. Will I be charged individually for these classes?
A. No. All future classes will be covered in your subscription. However, classes taken in the past cannot be covered in the package retroactively.

Q. I registered under someone else's online account, but I am the one taking the class. Will that be a problem?
A. Yes. Every student is required to have his or her own account.

Q. What if I am not using the latest version of Sage Master Builder?
A. As long as your software version is within one version of the current released version, your instructor will be able to speak to the differences between your version of the software and the current version.

Q. I need to take a class that is not posted on the schedule. Why aren't all classes listed?
A. Some online classes are more popular than others; therefore more popular classes are scheduled more frequently. Some classes are offered every week, while others are offered every 4-6 weeks.

Q. What should I do if my 'Join Class' link does not work?
A. If the link to does not connect you to the class, please call (800) 330-7163 or send an email to training.masterbuilder@sage.com.

Q. Can I do anything in advance to ensure things work properly?
A.
Yes. Follow the instructions outlined in your reservation confirmation email sent to you when you register for the class, or from the email class invitation sent one business day in advance of your training session. You must perform a one-time installation of WebEx Training Manager in advance of your first Sage Master Builder online training class.

Q. I am an AOL user, but have had problems receiving my email.
A.
Many AOL users have had difficulties receiving their invitations. You may consider creating another email account for your online class invitations. Many students use the free email accounts such as "hotmail" or "yahoo."
